Make Connections on the Bryant Street Pedestrian Bridge
Seeking: anyone who loves and/or uses the Bryant Street Pedestrian Bridge. Our neighbors to the east (Piedmont) want help keeping the bridge free of graffiti and garbage (That's right - volunteers deserve credit!) They organize regular cleanups, and would love to "bridge" our neighborhoods by caring for an actual bridge. Let us know if you'd be up to help out once or twice a year board@arborlodgeneighborhood.com.

Agreement for Clean Air
Neighbors for Clean Air is helping us negotiate an agreement with Vigor Industrial on Swan Island to address air quality concerns. If you're interested in tracking the conversation and/or participating on our behalf, let us know! Meetings for 2017 are scheduled to take place In April, July and October and we'd love to make sure our voice is represented at the table. More info here, and email us if you're interested in participating.
Construction Beginning at 6049 N Interstate
New residential construction is scheduled to start at the former Interstate Lanes site later this month, beginning with demolition of the former bowling alley building. Neighbors along N Colfax and N Ainsworth should expect intermittent lane closures beginning in mid-February. Please watch for signs to make sure you don't park in a closed area as you'll be towed at your expense. Find answers to your detailed questions at: fairfieldthelanes.com.
Movie in the Park...or Not?
As we highlighted in a recent blog post, we are trying to figure out whether to host Movie in the Park this summer in Arbor Lodge. If you feel attached to, and would like to volunteer to organize the Movie for Arbor Lodge, please let us know by the end of January. If we get enough folks, we will support you moving forward and help you succeed to the best of our abilities. If not, we might focus our volunteer and financial resources on a different summer event!
Wow - What Generosity!
Thank you to all who helped us gather $300+ in gift cards and cash for the Chief Joseph School Backpack program. These donations helped kids and families experiencing hunger in our neighborhood have food thru the long winter school break. It's hard to think we have hungry kids in our 'hood, but we do! Every little bit helps, so a BIG Thank You to all who donated this year.  Next year . . . join us!
Kudos Detroit Ave NET!
Three of our neighbors on Detroit Ave are Neighborhood Emergency Team (NET) members and are organizing an initial emergency preparedness meeting on January 15th for the 2-block stretch between Ainsworth and Rosa Parks. Way to get organized!
