Youth Extracurricular Support
Join us as we support each other in our extracurriculars.  

Parents: Send details about your youth's upcoming concerts, plays, games, matches and other events that we could come watch as a group to Cathy at cmusselwhite@hibbenumc.org. Please check the calendar link below to make sure your youth's event is on there.

Upcoming YES. Events
  • Dec. 13 @ 7pm- Rowan Irelan basketball game at Moultrie Middle School- Tickets are $3 for adults/HS students and $2 for middle school students. Meet at Moultrie at 6:45 pm.
  • Dec. 14 @ 7pm- Bella DeLong orchestra concert at Wando High School. Meet at Wando at 6:30pm.
  • Jan. 10 @ 7pm- Raegan Easterling and Anna Claire Good perform in Cario Middle School's production of Mulan, Jr. at The Sottile Theatre. Tickets are $5-$10 depending on seats. Will go as a group if at least 5 people sign up.

BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR JESUS IS THIS SUNDAY DURING SUNDAY SCHOOL!
MEET IN THE GYM AT 9:15AM TO HELP CHILDREN WITH CRAFTS AND LEAD THEM IN THE PROGRAM CALLED "THE ABC'S OF CHRISTMAS"

This year's party is at the home of Emmeline Basco from 6-8 pm.

YPB rehearses every Sunday that we have UMYF. Rehearsal time is 5pm.
Since UMYF does not meet at the church again until January 7th, that will be our next Youth Praise Band Rehearsal.

YPB members: Please keep a look out for the next Hibben UMC Planning Center invitation emailed by Karen Butler and RSVP so we will know you are coming.

Sunday School and UMYF Locations:

  • Jr. High Sunday School (6-8th grades) meets upstairs in the education wing of the main building from 9:15-10:15am.
  • Sr. High Sunday School (9-12th grades) meets in the youth room in the CLLC on Sundays from 9:15-10:15 am.
  • UMYF (7-12th grades) meets on Sundays from 6-8pm in the gym.

Jan 7 : Tie-dye night at UMYF 6-8pm in the gym- Join us as we tie- dye our new "eat, sleep, YOUTH GROUP, repeat" t-shirts!

REGISRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED UNTIL DEC. 30, 2018 FOR THE YOUTH RACIAL RECONCILIATION PILGRIMAGE COHORT

SCMYP is currently taking applications for youth who are interested in being a part of the inaugural Racial Reconciliation Cohort sponsored by The Advocacy Area of Connectional Ministries and South Carolina Ministries with Young People

This program offers youth from around the South Carolina Conference an experience that allows them to learn and model effective communication skills around the difficult topic of racism. The goals of the year-long experience are:

  • Increased comfort talking about race and race-related issues
  • Better understanding of themselves in relation to the issue of racism
  • Recognize current impacts of race in society

The year-long group cohort is designed to offer high school youth an opportunity for learning and self-reflection in the area of racial reconciliation.

Youth in grades 9 through 12 in the South Carolina Conference who are interested in being a part of the Youth Pilgrimage Cohort must apply by Dec. 30, 2017.
