Meet our recent Thriving Family Initiative graduate, Marly!
Marly’s fortune has changed for the better thanks to NMCS’ rainbow of support.
Marly is a mom with three children who decided in 2019 that she would not endure another night of domestic violence. Her decision to leave left her financially vulnerable and unable to make rent. She became un-housed and was in crisis.
Over the last two years, our case manager has been working with her, providing tools, support, and referrals to enable her to take care of her family. Marly joined our Thriving Family Initiative Program and was supported with emergency food and rental assistance, access to mental health services, budgeting and financial planning, Holiday Share and Heroes & Helpers for her three boys, and scholarships for affordable childcare so that she could work.
Marly has moved from transitional housing to a furnished, permanent home, thanks to our wrap-around services and coordinated care through community partners such as Center for Domestic Peace, Welcoming Home, the Novato Police Department, and others. Today Marly is fully employed, has a stable home, and her children are safe. Her path forward is forever changed, as is the fortune of her three children.
North Marin Community Services’ Thriving Family Initiative Program is supported by our caring community of donors. Thank you for helping us change lives!
