Webinar: Not just a women`s issue

Men’s life satisfaction is greater in more gender-equal nations, including improvements in men’s mental health. Fathers also get more time to spend with their children because of shared parental leave policies.

WIA-E GA: Shared Presentation

On Monday, 14 November 2022, WIA-Europe held its annual General Assembly that took place as an in-person event in Amsterdam with the possibility to follow the presentation via zoom. The presentation is now available online and will soon be complemented with minutes of the meeting.

Webinar: Flexible working for parents

The 2022 Working Families Index found that flexible working can support career progression for parents. Parents with remote or hybrid working arrangements were likely to report learning new skills, and mothers who work flexibly reported significantly more career progression. Join the webinar on the 8th December to explore the complex picture of flexible working and gender equity.

Online tool: Gender Decoder

Society has certain expectations of men and women and this seeps into the language we use. This gender-coding shows up in job adverts as well, and research has shown that it puts women off applying for jobs that are advertised with masculine-coded language.

This site is a quick way to check whether a job advert has the kind of subtle linguistic gender-coding that has this discouraging effect.
