WIA-E Board & General Assembly

At the annual WIA-Europe General Assembly that took place November 4th in Amsterdam, attending members voted new directors Mariella Graziano, Joerg Kreisel, and Arianna Casgliari onto the board. WIA-E Events

It was a great pleasure to see so many of our long-standing and new WIA-Europe members connect during the 73rd International Astronautical Congress in Paris. Throughout the week, which included a wide range of formal and informal WIA-Europe gatherings, the atmosphere was truly cordial and the exchanges inspirational. Find out more >>

1-3 December 2022, WIA-Europe was present with activities at the New Space Economy Expoforum in Rome. We had once more an outstanding line-up of guest speakers who joined us at our booth for a series of Q&A with WIA-Europe members and supporters. We had also the pleasure to officially present the winners of the 2022 WIA-Europe Grants & Awards programme. Find out more>>

Upcoming WIA-Europe events

In 2023, we look forward to seeing WIA-Europe members at the following events in the upcoming six months:

6-10 March: SpaceOps, Dubai
28-30 March: IAF Spring Meetings, Paris
17-20 April: Space Symposium, Colorado Springs

WIA-E Working Groups

The WIA-Europe Working Groups are inviting interested members to join the ongoing work and shape future WIA-Europe initiatives for the respective topics. Currently, the Skills Gap Working Group is looking for volunteers who can support the Skills Gap Interview Series with video editing. The task includes the editing of one video interview per month. WIA-E Grants & Awards

Christina Giannopapa, WIA-E Chair of the Board presented the WIA-Europe Grants and Awards at the New Space Economy in Rome. We were thrilled to celebrate the winners of 2022 during an official ceremony at the NSE. The winners are Marie-Claire de Bruijn, Yedida Jyothirmai, Katharina Siems and Dr. Olivia Borgue. WIA-E Local Groups

We are looking forward to a WIA-Europe Leadership Workshop that will take place in March 2023 and bring together representatives of WIA-Europe Local Groups, Working Groups and the Board.
In 2023, WIA-Europe will expand its regional representation among others to cities in Austria.
Would you like to be more involved? Connect to your local WIA-Europe community and actively help shaping the regional programme of the association by becoming part of a Local Group committee.

The people behind the success of the Artemis I mission

The Artemis I mission concluded successfully with the splashdown of the Orion capsule, a huge achievement celebrated at Thales Alenia Space: a mission full of memorable moments, tests and data, leading up to the Artemis II mission that will bring astronauts close to the Moon. And then comes Artemis III and the return of humans to the Moon. Thales Alenia Space is deeply involved in this mission.

This year, we have introduced our digital volunteer programme and we are thrilled to have a fantastic team shaping our social media outreach.

We are currently looking for a virtual volunteer to support the backoffice with membership management tasks.
