News & Events

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is Monday, 1/16. Let's pause and remember the legacy of this great civil rights leader. Dr. King's philosophy would have fit in well at FBC, where everyone is welcomed, accepted, and loved.

The church office will be closed in observance of the holiday.
It's almost time again to make a huge difference in the lives of local children and their families! Family Promise week at FBC starts 1/22 through 1/28. FBC volunteers are greatly needed to make meals and deliver them (and if cooking isn't your thing, take-outs work too!) Can you spare time to help these struggling families? Please click the link below to sign up for meals: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0845A4AB2EA1FC1-family3.

Family Promise of the Coastal Empire has a clear mission: to offer help, hope, and hospitality to homeless families with children in our community. There are many ways you can help. Go here to learn more: www.familypromisece.org.
During the morning worship service on Sunday, 1/22, the following people will be ordained as deacons in First Baptist Church:

Betsy Davis
Norma Finley
Evan Goetz
Melissa Ralph
Polly Stramm

Please pray for them as they join the diaconate and faithfully serve our church.
The African Children's Choir will perform at First Baptist Church Monday evening, 1/23, at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary.  Hosted by the Coastal Youth Choir and the Savannah Children's Choir, this is a concert full of singing and dancing! The concert is FREE, but love offerings are accepted.

IMPORTANT: Seating in the sanctuary for the concert is going to be at a premium. To assist with seating, Eventbrite hosts free events on its link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/african-childrens-choir-2023-american-tour-tickets-494324717537.  Please get your general seating tickets as soon as possible. Tickets are free. If you have tickets, you are guaranteed seating. The church sanctuary seats 450 guests and 75 are already reserved for invited guests and singers from the Coastal Youth Choir and others.

FBC Welcomes Karen Jerald Back to the Fold

She’s baaaack!  Having retired twice from FBC, Karen Jerald is back in the office handling accounting duties until a permanent replacement for Beth Hancock can be found. Karen is a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and has enjoyed her retirement time visiting her family. She is also looking forward to seeing old friends at FBC and meeting new members while she waits for her third retirement. We look forward to working with Karen again and cannot thank her enough for stepping up to help during this transition.
Honor or remember someone close to you with the gift of flowers. Flowers that adorn our sanctuary add color and beauty, and are special reminders of those we love.  The cost to donate flowers is only $75.  Call the church office today at (912) 234-2671 or email office@bc-sav.org to place a donation and get your date on the 2023 calendar.  Thank you!
