Dear Corset Friends,
Before starting Ava, I spent many years dreaming and thinking about setting up my own corset brand: bringing to life my own designs and creating ethically produced corsetry and lingerie to bring customers unique, well made and thoughtfully fashioned garments. Thus, it’s with great sadness that I have to announce I will be leaving Ava behind - my personal circumstances are taking me to a place where it would be logistically impossible to combine motherhood with hand making garments and sending them across the world!
I'd like to thank each and every one of you, the people who have purchased products, shared photos, commented, liked, given support and helped me in so many ways.
Because you've given so much support to my dream, neither I nor those of us working in the small community of independent corsetry and lingerie wanted Ava to close. And so I am very excited to introduce you to Lyzzy, my friend and colleague (who you may already know if you are an avid lingerie fan). She'll be keeping the gorgeous world of Ava Corsetry alive!
Lyzzy is a First Class Honours graduate from De Monfort Universities Contour Fashion degree. With an eye for design and exceptional technical knowledge, she has become one of the most sought after freelance lingerie technicians in the UK. With a client base including such names as Agent Provocateur, Nightprowl London, Bordelle, Betty Blues Loungerie, Kiss Me Deadly, Myla and What Katie Did, she has brought technical know-how to many striking designs in the lingerie world.
Lyzzy’s graduate collection; will she carry the bold colours and corset dress to Ava? Keep visiting to see what the new collection will bring!
Overwire bra and fan-laced girdle for Kiss Me Deadly. Lyzzy has done some amazingly creative pieces for various designers and has a special talent for retro-inspired work.
Betty Blue’s Loungerie – Lyzzy not only specialises in corsetry, she also does bras, pants, suspenders, soft teddies and babydolls. Basically, she does it all!
Whilst I’m sad to be leaving Ava, I’m departing with the absolute confidence that it will continue to thrive and flourish. I’m so excited to see where things go from here and have faith that you will all support my good friend.
Lastly, in tidying up my workroom I have come across a few (very few) Lola Skirts!! I’ll be adding these to the website today, so keep a close eye on social media to see when this happens if you’d love to get your hands on one. There is also an ongoing sample sale with some showpieces up for grabs!
So without further ado, I raise a glass to Ava and to what I’m sure will be an exciting and beautiful future!
Much love to you all
