APPLICATION SPOTLIGHT Open Pit MineAs part of our continuing showcase on RST's recent application illustrations, this newsletter focuses on Open Pit Mines. The illustration provides a quick reference to the instrumentation used in a typical setting of an Open Pit Mine. It illustrates which areas require monitoring and measuring, and shows the ideal installation of geotechnical instruments where the most advantageous results can be achieved.
In future newsletters we will be showcasing more illustrations; however, you can view all 16 illustrations now on our website by clicking on any of the 4 categories here:
UPDATED PRODUCTDigital ThermArray+ SystemRST’s Digital ThermArray+ System has been recently updated over the previous ThermArray System. It provides precision thermal gradient information for geotechnical, geothermal, and marine applications. The main component of the system consists of digital thermal data acquisition nodes distributed along a single cable, typically spaced at uniform intervals. This digital technology allows for many nodes to be placed on one string without greatly increasing the overall cost. Data setup and collection is performed by a stationary data logger system (typically an RST flexDAQ Data logger System), a laptop, or an Ultra-Rugged Field PC2 for portable readings. The Digital Thermarray+ System is compatible with other DT Bus sensors, including tilt and pressure. Different sensor types can be combined on one DT Bus.
