Welcome to Sheltering Hands Winter 2016 Newsletter. Since our Grand Opening last September, we have been busy settling into our new Surgical Center. With the help of our dedicated team of veterinarians, staff and volunteers, we have spay/neutered over 4500 cats since we began our Community Cats Program in 2012.  In addition to our very successful TNR program, we also offer low cost spay/neuter vouchers to help cat owners who would like to get their family cat fixed, but need help with the cost. For $50, your cat will be neutered or spayed(no extra cost for female cats) and receive a one year rabies shot. You can purchase the vouchers online at our website or at PetSmart on State Road 200 in our adoption center.
Introducing our new Adoptions Coordinator- Gail Musolino

Sheltering Hands would like to welcome our new adoptions coordinator, Gail Musolino, to our staff. Gail's bio- "My first introduction to Sheltering Hands was about six years ago when I went into Petsmart looking for a Calico kitten because my beloved Cali the Calico had passed away from cancer.  Well, this little Blue Tabby picked me (Grace).  I spoke at length with Dr. Fleck about the "new" TNR program coming up and was very interested.  I bought my house that Christmas and with it came a large number of cats and so I began volunteering.  I forget the original number of cats I "inherited", but through the years I now have 17 cats in my outside colony.   My beloved pets, Grace, Max and DC (deaf cat), plus one "little" 90 pound Boxer named Buzz, share my house with me and make it a home.
My work background is as diverse as my cat colony. I graduated college with a degree in CIS (computer information systems). Technology does not scare me though I may grumble a little bit about it!  After college, I worked as a project manager for several companies.  This required me to travel all over the world on business.  I was always so grateful to get back home.  Most recently I worked in the realm of customer service and problem solving.  Now I get to utilize all of these skills I have acquired over my lifetime in an area that is near and dear to my heart.
I am very excited to be on board with Sheltering Hands and look forward to a year of support and growth with an amazing team of people that has a passion for these furry babies."
