Dear friends and fellow laborers,
As April comes to a close, we find ourselves tired but still enjoying the ministry. :-) We had “only” five meetings this month, including two missions conferences. Our first stop was at First Baptist Church in Ranson, WV. We were scheduled to do our presentation in the evening service, but we were going to be in the area because we were going to the National Zoo for Erin’s birthday on Saturday, so I let the pastor know we would be there for the morning service as well. Pastor Withem called me at the zoo and asked if I could teach the adult Sunday school class since we would be there in the morning, to which I agreed. When we got to the church in the morning, the pastor wasn’t there, having been called to the hospital for an emergency situation with one of the members. He hadn’t known that when he called me Saturday and asked me to fill in. See, the Lord sees ahead and works it all out!
We headed up to NY for our home church missions conference next, and had some really good preaching there by Adam Thompson. While in Rochester, we also presented the ministry at Chili Bible Baptist Church, and got to meet some of my parents’ old friends. Then we headed back south to Lake Milton Baptist Church in Diamond, OH. Now, most churches we’ve visited really seem to go all out for missions conferences and missionaries, but I have to say the folks at Lake Milton really outdid themselves in hospitality to all the missionaries present! We would like to extend special thanks to them for their kindness.
As you can see from the calendar, next month is pretty full of meetings, but no missions conferences, which makes it a little less stressful on everyone. We have really been running pretty hard the last two months, including four weeks straight of missions conferences! We’ve had a couple more churches express interest in financially supporting our ministry, but it takes a little time to get all the wheels moving, so the support level hasn’t been updated until some more of the numbers come in. We have been able to schedule a few more meetings through the later part of the year as well. Thank you all for your prayers and financial support, and please continue to pray for us as we do another nine meetings this month, traveling about 2800 miles.
Serving the King of Kings,
The Reed Family
