A Cadet’s rank and position within the Corps are determined by academic and military performance, participation in Oak Ridge Military Academy activities, and demonstrated leadership potential. OCS/Cadre is a series of training sessions designed to challenge a Cadet physically and mentally. OCS training prepares the Cadet for the challenges of managing others and reinforces expectations.
The Cadets are invited to participate in this program by the Commandant, with recommendations from Cadet leadership and TAC input. OCS training is for rising seniors. Cadre training is open to 7th through 11th graders who would like to hold a leadership position in the Corps of Cadets during the next Academic year.
The first phase of training will take place on March 31st, April 1st & 2nd. The second phase of training will take place during the week of April 3rd-April 7th.
The Cadets will board on campus for those weekend training session. Training will commence at 1600 (4 PM) on Friday afternoon and end at 1800 (6 PM) on Sunday evening. The Cadets can call home when they have completed their training session. 1SG Sallie McCullough will have the training packet.
