Spring Break

The dates of Spring Break will be April 7-16.  The Cadets will be available for pick-up after 4 PM on the 7th.  Boarding students need to report by 6 PM on April 16th.  If flight arrangements have already been made that conflict with the dates, please contact CSM Lewis.  

OCS/ Cadre Training

A Cadet’s rank and position within the Corps are determined by academic and military performance, participation in Oak Ridge Military Academy activities, and demonstrated leadership potential. OCS/Cadre is a series of training sessions designed to challenge a Cadet physically and mentally. OCS training prepares the Cadet for the challenges of managing others and reinforces expectations.

The Cadets are invited to participate in this program by the Commandant, with recommendations from Cadet leadership and TAC input. OCS training is for rising seniors. Cadre training is open to 7ththrough 11thgraders who would like to hold a leadership position in the Corps of Cadets during the next Academic year.

The first phase of training will take place onMarch 31st, April 1st & 2nd. The second phase of training will take place during the week of April 3rd-April 7th.

The Cadets will board on campus for those weekend training session. Training will commence at 1600 (4 PM) on Friday afternoon and end at 1800 (6 PM) on Sunday evening. The Cadets can call home when they have completed their training session. 1SG Sallie McCullough will have the training packet.

Bataan Memorial Death March Event

The Bataan Memorial Death March will be held onSaturday 25 March 2023.  The March will begin at 0600, meals will be provided by SGM McKaughan and MSG H.  It is difficult to estimate a finishing time because the ability of the Cadets influences the speed at which they complete the march.  Please estimate 12 to 14 hours to complete the activity.  The Cadets will be allowed to call their parents when the march is complete.

Five-Day Boarders and Day Students participating in the march will need to reside in the dorm the night of Friday 24 March 2023. Participating Cadets need to show proof of registration the morning of the event. Cadets need to bring a water source, water refill locations will be provided.

Raffle for the Military Ball

The Cadets voted on what they wanted to raffle off as a fundraiser for the Military Ball.  They chose the X-box X series for the raffle. The tickets are $5 per ticket. Each Cadet is asked to sell a minimum of ten (10)tickets. 1SG Sallie McCullough is the contact person for this raffle.
