New cost-of-living grant funding
Cost-of-living grants aim to meet the immediate needs of the crisis, develop more personalised and specialist support, and promote a more connected local charitable network. These grants are funded by OCF and Oxfordshire County Council and will also be supported through a dedicated fundraising appeal.
Amounts available: £500 - £10,000
Group annual income: Under £2,000,000
Type of cost: Ongoing running costs, including full cost recovery, project, capital and promotional costs
Thank you to those who have given feedback on the progress of their Food Poverty Action Plan pledge. We have received 18 responses from a possible 41 groups who completed pledges in 2021.
As promised, there are four lucky winners who will each receive a £25.00 voucher to spend at their choice of the Oxford Community Action pop-up kitchen at Flo’s Place in the Park/ Climatarian Kitchen at Cherwell Collective/ or another community café of your choice.
If you have not yet given feedback, 1 further prize draw voucher is on offer. We will make the draw at the end of October.
The winners are: Banbury Mosque (Cherwell District); The Berin Centre (South Oxfordshire District); Food for Charities, Botley Bikers (Oxford City) and Iraqi Woman and War (Countywide).
We will be in contact with the winners to arrange handover of the prize.
Training guide for those working with surplus food
The Brighton and Hove Food Partnership have created this handy training guide containing videos, downloads and resources for managers and coaches working in the food surplus sector and include topics such as food safety, well being and mentoring.
Free freezer available
Bicester Food Bank no longer need their double door commercial freezer. It is going free to anyone who is able to collect. Contact Emma if you are interested for more details.
