Recovery, Restoration and Release from the nightmare of human trafficking.

Our
4th Annual Benefit BBQ
& Barn Dance

went off without a hitch!!

Chef Bubba (below) & Chef Danny, consummate grill meisters, spent most of the day cooking chicken, kielbasa, corn, and other delectables, while Laurie, Sherry, Paula and others cooked and served baked beans, salad and chips and salsa!

My personal opinion? This was the best year yet!!

This is a shot of our 2014 bonfire!! After it burned down a bit, we had marsh mellows, graham crackers & chocolate bars for the quintessential S'mores!! (We have 5 foot long roasting sticks, so no one lost eyebrows to the effort!)

Palm Beach Atlantic University has a "Justice Week" every year in the spring. This year, Becky Dymond is the Keynote speaker along several survivors

Becky will be speaking at every morning chapel service, from 11:00 to 12:00, and Monday night, from 7:00 to 9:00pm in DeSantis Chapel.

Monday night she will be showing Shadow Industry, while several survivors of human trafficking share their stories. If you haven't seen the movie yet, or heard survivors speak, this is a great opportunity to catch up with what we are doing to educate and raise awareness about the scourge of modern day slavery.

What I Wish My Mother Had Told Me About Men, Twelve Secrets Toward Greater Intimacy, by Julie Gorman.

This book was written to unveil the powerful mystery of how God intended for us as women to understand and celebrate men. It is an in-depth personal study guide filled with insight and experience. Drawing from her own experience of early childhood sexual abuse, promiscuity and a failed marriage Julie shares her own missteps, and personal growth along with many other women’s stories as well. Though her marriage to Greg started out rocky, the truths and insights shared in the book serve as milestones towards the healthy marriage they now have.

One of my favorite lessons was in Chapter 5: “I Can Change Him” Julie discusses how only God can change someone’s soul. This job is reserved for the Holy Spirit. When we, as humans, try to change a man’s heart it leads to either concession or contempt. I myself completely understand this, as I have made this error many times myself.

Each chapter invites you to think more deeply about key topics divided into two categories: “Lies We Believe” and “Truths We Need.” Purchasing the book from her website,
JulieGorman.com, twelve complimentary study videos are available for individual or study group use. Julie writes, “Change cannot happen without work or without soaking up God’s knowledge.” Reading this book brings a sense of clarity and freedom from common deceptions that interfere with God’s plan for healthy marriages.

The property should be on the market in the next month. The list price will likely be between $400 & $450k. We will be competing against owner/occupants and investors for the property. Please agree with us in prayer for the finances to place the winning offer! And of course, it is OK to contribute to this effort as well!
