New Community

It seems odd that Machida should only just now be our community, but it is true for us. Though we've been here for 3 years, our church is here, and we commuted to Machida several times a week, I didn't realize how isolated we were from our church and community until we moved this spring. The logistics of us traveling by train to Machida, or others driving through city traffic to us in Yokohama made the distance (just 13 kilometers or 8 miles) seem like much farther! What would be a 20 minute drive in our hometown of Anchorage was over an hour commute for us, one way, not round trip!

We have had several opportunities to host families in our home, something that I have been wanting to do more of since we came to Japan. We can walk to the church in 10 or 15 minutes so that attending meetings and events is much less of a to-do, something I am so grateful for especially as I progress in my pregnancy!

These last two months Travis has taken on two more English teaching opportunities. One position is at another church congregation down the road, and the other is one-on-one tutoring with a young man who Tim Turner introduced to us. This gentleman asked Tim about being tutored in English for a job for which he wants to apply. Also, just this week we've started a new term for English classes at Machida Church of Christ; we've both lost some previous students and also had several new families interested in joining our classes. Please pray for the opportunities that we have to be a witness for these children and families who don't yet know Christ.

We have so many things to be grateful for, among them is the continued generosity shown to us by our supporters. We thank you all for your faithful prayers and contributions for our family. Ministry in Japan is hard to state it simply, but it wouldn't be possible for us without our supporters!

Blessing to you all,

Baby Kilson

Our baby and Becky are growing by the day! We have had a healthy pregnancy thus far, and feel so blessed as we look forward to meeting our little girl next month! Please pray for us as we prepare for baby's delivery. We are nervous about the distance to the hospital, and the unknowns that surround this delivery as it will be our first experience (or at least attempt) with natural birth.

We are pleased with our selected hospital which is much more flexible with Travis attending the birth, both natural and caesarean section. They also emphasize the importance of baby rooming with mom, regardless if it is a shared room or not. We did our due diligence in selecting the hospital, and are trying our best to be prepared for the time of delivery; for the rest, we're praying to trust God with the unknown details. We hope you will pray with us for a safe, healthy delivery, and that we will have a peace about the upcoming event. Pray also for Naomi as Mom will be away for several days, and then the adjustment that it will be for her (and all of us) welcoming her sister home.

Please consider partnering with us!
