So, tell us a little bit about yourself!

My parents are from Memphis so I've lived here most of my life. As a kid, I remember driving by the Memphis State campus and wanting to go to school there. I started my college experience at MSU and after a few detours I will be graduating (again) from the University of Memphis next year. I'm a proud Tiger!

What are your career goals?

I love archaeology, so working for an organization with large archaeological collections, both prehistoric and historic, is my ideal career. I would love to work for the Smithsonian or National Park Service, or maybe go abroad to the British Museum or Louvre.

What are your hobbies?

I don't know if you'd consider traveling a hobby but it’s one of my favorite things to do. I've visited Europe a couple of times, as well as Mexico and China. Yosemite National Park and Iceland are on my bucket list.

What is your favorite museum?

Claude Monet's home in Giverny, France is one of my favorite museums. The pink house with bright green shutters and the gardens that provided inspiration for so many of his paintings are so serene and beautiful. After visiting his former residence, you owe it to yourself to view his water lily murals at l'Orangerie in Paris.

Tell us one weird but true fact about yourself.

Sound of Music is one of my all-time favorite movies. I was going to audition for my elementary school's production of the musical until I realized I couldn't sing. That same year, Maria von Trapp visited our church on Palm Sunday and she took time to say hi and shake my hand. That experience more than made up for my inability to portray her on stage.

What projects are you working on at Chucalissa?

Currently, I'm entering collection information into PastPerfect; transferring paper records to an electronic format. It's been interesting going through the museum's files and seeing the names of coworkers, professors (who were students at the time), even old family friends, and how they conducted archaeological research.

So, tell us a little bit about yourself!

I am 27 years old and originally from Pinson, TN.  I have always been fascinated with astronomy and with the past here on Earth. I used to visit Pinson Mounds on a regular basis for the purposes of meditation, nature trails, and the calmness of peace I felt when I was there. I came to Memphis to study anthropology, but quickly realized that I prefer the archaeological side of the discipline.

What are your career goals?

My career goal are to either explore the earth archaeologically, underwater as a preference, or to explore the vast realms of space as a geologist studying the soil samples.

What are your hobbies?

My hobbies are hiking, sports, working out, museums, anything to do with learning about space, movies, games, and hanging out with friends...etc..

What is your favorite museum?

It's really hard for me to say my favorite museum because I don't feel like I've been to enough around the world to say.

Tell us one weird but true fact about yourself.

It's also hard for me to say a weird fact about myself because what's weird to one person is not weird to another.

What projects are you working on at Chucalissa?

I am currently working on a lithic analysis independent research project of unit 6 excavations at Chucalissa, but I hope to turn the analysis into a bigger project involving stone tools, bone tools, and pottery collections to create the lifestyle patterns of the natives throughout the entire history at the Chucalissa site.
