May 5th Keeping Volunteers in your Community Garden
5:30pm, Union Branch Library (3463 East 93rd Street Cleveland. OH 44104) Jeff Griffiths from HandsOn Northeast Ohio will share how to recruit and maintain successful volunteers at your garden project.

May 7th May Garden Learning Circle 
10:00am, OSU Extension office (5320 Stanard Ave. Cleveland, OH 44103) Calling all community gardeners! Learn about what’s happening in the garden during the month of May. Bring your gardening questions and share your knowledge with other gardeners. All experience levels welcome! This event will be potluck style, please bring a dish to share with others. 

May 19th Pollinators in Your Garden 
6:00 pm, Beachwood Branch Library (25501 Shaker Blvd. Cleveland, OH 44122)Join us to learn about the importance of pollinators in your garden, and how to attract them.

May 28th Indoor Gardening and Gardening with Limited Mobility
10:00am, Eliza Bryant Village (7201 Wade Park Ave. Cleveland, OH 44103) Learn the basics of indoor gardening and how to make gardening with limited mobility easy and enjoyable.


Strawberry Field Night
May 25th OSU South Centers 1864 Shyville Rd. Piketon, OH.

A variety of strawberry plasticulture and matted row strawberry field research will be showcased during this field night. Cost to attend field night is $20.00 per person (includes dinner). Digging and Dividing Perennials
May 5th (Rain date: May 12th) 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Ben Franklin Perennial Garden Tampa Ave, Cleveland, OH 44109

There is no easier and cheaper way than division to get more (free!) plants for your garden or to share with friends.  Dividing has the added benefit of reinvigorating your perennials — provided it is done at the right time — and improving plant health.  Come learn the proper techniques with the Master Gardeners of Cuyahoga county! 


First Friday Tours: Hops
First Friday of every month 10:00am - 12:00pm, OSU South Centers, 1864 Shyville Rd. Piketon, OH
During tours participants will learn about hop yard construction, irrigation, variety sections, and much more! $15 per family to attend.Registration is required. To register or find out more click here.


Master Gardener Hotline
Do you have questions about your yard or garden? Master Gardeners want to help! The Master Gardener hotline is dedicated to providing research based information free of charge. The hotline is available Mondays and Thursdays from 10:00am-1:00pm. Hotline number: 4429-8200 ext. 235

Upcoming Community High Tunnel Build
May 14th, 15th, 21st, 22nd. 10:00am - 5:00pm Good Earth Farm (9600 Madison Ave, Cleveland)

The Good Earth Farm is looking for volunteers to help build their high tunnel. No experience necessary. Lunch will be provided on all days. For more information call Jeanette Toms at 216-288-0170.

Looking to connect with other community gardens within Cuyahoga County? CCGardens.us helps Cuyahoga County community gardeners share resources and raise awareness in their community.

Rain Barrel Workshop
Learn how to harvest rainwater for all your garden needs and to combat storm water pollution in your community by constructing a rain barrel! The informational workshop is FREE.
