It’s strange how certain things we thought might require a battle, went easier than expected. But things we thought wouldn’t be an issue at all turned into downright nightmares.
The primary reason for delay was that the seller did not possess clear title to the property, and was not in a position to remedy the situation. If we wanted to continue, we would have to resolve the problems ourselves, and that’s just what we opted to do.
We were ready to close in December 2015, but discovered that the land was being encroached upon, and neither the access easement nor the parking easement existed as they were presented to us. We tried to obtain a parking easement from one abutter, but due to regulations, he was unable. We went to another abutter who was willing to provide us what we needed, but it came at a significant cost.
We persevered. We weathered YOUR disappointments and our own. We sat down at a table in our lawyer’s office on Sept. 30 and signed our name to endless reams of paper, some of which we scoured with trepidation, but we knew this was the risk we needed to take, the sacrifice required to achieve success. The deed was recorded today. It’s official.
This is what America’s all about. We’re just two guys who believe in a dream and are willing to put everything on the line to build something great. We have some hard work ahead of us, but we remain eternally grateful for the opportunity and your continued loyalty. Please stay tuned!
