Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all. —Aristotle
We hope July finds you enjoying the summer sun (our northern hemisphere readers) or the cool of winter (our southern hemisphere readers)! This month’s focus on Positive Behavior Support is a reminder that the EarlyEdU Alliance® provides support for educators facing challenges in the classroom. Find your support team when you join the Alliance!
Behavior is a form of communication. Join the panelists of Circle Time Magazine (CTM), season 2, episode 2, to learn how environments can be designed to help children communicate effectively. Learn more about PBS and how creating a nurturing and predictable learning setting may help children manage their behavior; download the print version of CTM or view the magazine online.
Modules and More: Positive Behavior Support (PBS)
This month’s selection from the EarlyEdU Alliance® multimedia resources is a spotlight on PBS. These resources are available to use in your teaching or professional development activities. Go to the Modules and More page on our website to download and use the videos in your work. The videos will be available for one month and then added to the media library. Access to the complete library is available to EarlyEdU members only. Please consider Joining the EarlyEdU Alliance.

As part of Cultivate Learning at the University of Washington’s (UW) College of Education, our EarlyEdU partner is now accepting applications for the 2019-20 PBC Certificate cohort. We are pleased to share this expanded learning opportunity for coaches. This three-quarter, nine-credit certificate program is an opportunity to deepen understanding of foundational coaching practices that promote engaging interactions and positive behavior support through culturally responsive relationships, development of shared goals, focused observation, reflection and feedback. Application deadline is August 9, 2019. To learn more, please join an informational webinar on July 23rd or July 25th.
