It started with a simple question...

"Are you looking for a different educational experience for your child?"

This question, posed in a local newspaper ad, begins the Gardner School's story. Founded in 1995, the Gardner School was created based on progressive educational practices and individualized instruction with integrated curriculum experiences for students. This type of hands-on learning wasn't happening other places, and the overwhelming response showed the founding team how important this opportunity was for local families.

The story of our beautiful campus and one of a kind instructional learning environment began 25 years ago with the work of founders, teachers, parents, and community supporters. Last month, we sat down with three key founders and parents and listened as they told us the story of the school's founding.

Over the last 25 years, the Gardner School has met the needs of a wide range of children, as well as provided a space for thousands of students to find their spark, make lasting friendships, and feel supported and known as individuals.

Time and time again, families and teachers at the Gardner School have seen that the gift of a Gardner School education isn't just experienced in the time children spend on campus, but continues through a lifetime of learning as well! Please consider making a donation to our Annual Fund today and help ensure that the Gardner School continues transforming the lives of children and families for another 25 years, and beyond!

Alumni Stories

The Gardner School let me do me. I got to find out who I was and what my passions were with no pressure to act like someone I’m not. I owe my comfortability of being myself to the Gardner School.

- Cozzie DeBonis

The Gardner School not only helped me become the student I am today, but helped me develop into the person I am today. My experience here is cherished and never forgotten and I couldn’t feel more lucky to have have the experiences I had here.

- Maria Apostolou

Gardner helped me in many ways. It helped me learn to explore, to understand the world around me, and to grow. In many ways, Gardner is what molded me into who I am today, and I find that something to be proud of. While it is a small school, there's tons of opportunity to learn, achieve, be curious. I still am just an inexperienced, unknowing kid but I wouldn't be where I am today if I hadn't gone to Gardner.

- Kaisho Barnhill

Help us continue making a difference in the lives of kids and families

The vision for a transformational educational experience that began 25 years ago is still alive and thriving today. Through your financial support, we can continue this work and help ensure that children in our community have a place to grow as learners, scientists, artists, musicians, and confident, connected human beings.

Yes - I want to support this work!
