Michael has been running his mouth since God was a baby. If it's not one thing, it's another. If it's not his father, it's his mother. Boys. Politics. Blackness. Queerness. Broadway. Off-Broadway. Good times and bum times, he's seen them all and is stepping forward to blow off some steam, sing a few tunes, and generally get into it in advance of the spring world premiere of his musical A Strange Loop at Playwrights Horizons, co-produced by Page 73 Productions.

Michael said,

“Musical Theatre Factory is a singular institution that I will ever be indebted to. Founding Artistic Director Shakina Nayfack invited me to work on A Strange Loop after a long period of dormancy on the piece in the inaugural writers group and it was exactly the support I needed to kick the show into high gear and lead to my production at Playwrights Horizons in co-production with Page 73 Productions this spring. No matter where I am fortunate to work on new shows, my heart will always belong to MTF and am thrilled to work with them again at Joe’s Pub.”

MTF is proud to present Michael R. Jackson in concert. Join us for an evening of thrilling music and conversation with MTF Founding Alumnus, and Jonathan Larson Grant recipient, Michael R. Jackson, ahead of the world premiere of his MTF-developed musical A Strange Loop. In “The 37th Annual Michael R. Jackson Talk and Sing”, Michael will showcase songs from his repertoire in his soulful musical theater singer-songwriter style, accompanied by personal, humorous and boundary-pushing lyrics, and will be joined by special guest artists Natalie Walker, Molly Hager and John-Andrew Morrison! Musical Direction by Sean Cameron, and Line Produced by MTF Creative Producing Fellow, Li Kennedy.
