Tuesday, December 18th

440 Lafayette, White Box

Deck the Halls at 7PM / Performances at 7:30PM

The tree vendors are out, the lights are twinkling, and the most wonderful time of the year is upon New York City! Join us as we celebrate the season, reflect on 2018, and share in new holiday-themed work from members of MTF, all hosted by the wondrous Alana Jacoby, Samuel Salmond, and Jennifer Stafford. An optional toy donation for Toys for Tots will be collected at the door! The attire for the evening is cozy pajamas, so come cuddle and sing the night away with MTF.

Alana Jacoby wrote the lyrics and book for When We’re Gone (Lyric Theater of Oklahoma 2018) and Trivøya Gold, represents the Jewish sixth of the hosts, and knows the story of A Christmas Carol like the back of Gonzo’s hand. Sam Salmond is Jonathan Larson Award winning composer/ lyricist. He's writing the scores to Eighty-Sixed, The Homefront, Creature and more! Each year, When Santa and his team are flying around the world, Sam and Mrs Claus get drunk and trash talk every. single. reindeer. Jenny Stafford is an award-winning lyricist and bookwriter whose works include The Homefront, Extended Stay, Prodigy, The Artist and the Scientist, Awakening, Paramour, and others....and her love of Christmas knows no bounds.

Don’t have any holiday themed work to share? Challenge yourself to pick up a pen and start writing that next multi-million dollar Mariah Carey Christmas classic! Perhaps you instead write a song reflecting on 2018 and the brand new spankin’ year ahead. Or become the Irving Berlin that Hanukkah never had (“I Had A Little Dreidel” can only get us so far…). All ideas will do!

For more information and to request a slot, email Carmen and Brandon at And if you aren't sure you want to share yet, you can always sign up for our open mic portion of the evening when you arrive.

Our free monthly Factory Salons showcase artists of the MTF family while uniting us to celebrate art, musical theatre, and community. Whether it’s a full performance with background singers, a quick melody plucked at the piano, a concept you sprouted over breakfast, or a design you’ve been developing for years, we’ll meet you wherever you’re at in the creative process.
