The government announces a £10 million fund to support women’s refuges in 100 areas across England.

Gender pay gap at an all-time low

The gender pay gap measures the difference between men and women’s average salaries. There are many reasons for the difference: men and women predominate in different sectors, more men reach senior positions, more women work part-time, etc. However, the good news is that the gap is now at its lowest point in history. It has been eliminated for those under 40 working full-time and is continuing to narrow for those over 40.

Government announces £2 million fund to help close gender pay gap

The fund will help women move from low paid, low skilled work to high paid, high skilled work to help tackle the gender pay gap.
