Everest Earns Re-accreditation with Distinction!
Assalaamo alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu
Since it's inception 8 years ago, Everest Academy has been focused on ascension to excellence per its mission and vision. Our school got accredited with exemplary status from AdvancED in 2011. AdvancED monitors its accredited schools regularly and conducts an intensive Quality Assurance review every fifth year in order to renew accreditation. Everest's Quality Assurance Review was held on February 10 and 11, 2016. A team of five evaluators from AdvancED and CISNA (Council of Islamic Schools in North America) spent two full days in interviewing various stakeholders and thoroughly reviewing our records.Among others, the evaluators included:
- Dr. Gail Pope- AdvancEd Regional Director, former Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction; former Director of Governor's Best Practice Center for Virginia Department of Education;
- Sufia Azmat- Executive Director of CISNA
- Lesley Boyer- Team Lead and Administrator for 30 years at South Shore Independent School District;
The team's exit report was presented at the end of their second day. Alhumdo lillah, we are extremely excited to announce that Everest Academy has earned dual Accreditation with a distinction from AdvancED and CISNA! The evaluators were highly impressed by Everest's support for student learning, leadership's competence and capacity, and collaborative culture consistent with the school’s purpose and direction. They stated that of all the private schools they have accredited, Everest has scored the highest ranking. Allahu Akbar!
