Benefit Events:

Country House: Monday 1/27 - Sunday 2/2

Through February 2nd, Country House is teaming up with PTA to help us raise funds for our schools. Show your flyer when you pay and PTA will receive 15% of the proceeds!

PTA Meeting: Monday, February 3

Monday, February 3rd is our next PTA meeting. Join us at 7:00 pm at Westview Hills in the Wildcat Den to hear the latest news from PTA, learn about open positions for next year, and hear district updates from our Superintendent and administrative staff.

Winter Dance: Friday, February 7

On Friday February 7th, Westview Hills Middle School is hosting its Winter Dance! Entry fee is $3.00. Pizza and lemonade are provided by the PTA.

Parents Night Out Updates: Saturday, February 29

Visit the PTA Website Upcoming Events tab to register to join us for our first Parents Only Fundraiser Event on Saturday, February 29!

If you're wondering what to do with the kids, we've partnered with WESTMONT YARD to offer a special Kids Night Out event, too!  $20 lets you drop off your child so you can join the fun at the Trivia Night! (multiple child discount available) 

And, finally, the donations for the Grade Raffle Baskets are starting to roll in: which grade is going to win? The grade with the best participation will get prizes for kids - and every donor gets a free raffle ticket to enter in the basket of their choice.

8th Grade Dinner Dance Committee

Have a Westview student and want to get involved? The committee for the 8th Grade Dinner Dance is meeting Wednesday, February 26th at Three Corners Grill at 7:00 pm. They're looking for volunteers to help prepare for this much loved event. Parents of 6th or 7th graders are especially invited to come help plan and learn the ropes for when your student is an 8th grader. A lot goes into this beautiful night of dinner and dancing, and many hands make light work. Mark your calendars! If interested please contact Kristie Wyssman at

Plunge Into Fitness

Time to Get Your Exercise On!
We are excited to start this year's Plunge Into Fitness Program with Raging Waves for all K-8th grade students! This is an amazing opportunity to develop healthy habits and have a little fun while doing it. From February 10 through April 6, 2020, each student will color in a section on the Plunge log for every 30 minutes of exercise completed. Once the log is finished, it will be turned in to receive a free or discounted admission ticket for this summer.

Band Spaghetti Dinner: Friday, February 21

Come support Maercker Band Students for the district's 46th Annual Band Spaghetti Dinner! Don't have time for a sit down meal? No problem, order online using the to go form.

This event, put on by Maercker Music Parents Association, is also asking for volunteers to prepare food, sale bakery items, or assist in selling the placemat ads.

Empty Bowl Fundraiser: Saturday, February 22

Help raise funds for a local charity while having fun! Pre-made ceramics are provided and attendees paint their selected bowl, plate, or mug.

Come join Mr. Vance on Saturday, February 22 from 12-4 PM at Westview Hills Middle School! Every staff member, student, and family in Maercker District 60 is invited to participate in this art event. 

The cost is $20 per person, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local charity. To participate, please email Josh Vance (

PTA January Event Recap

Holmes Movie Night
Holmes School had their annual movie night January 10th. The kids watched Moana on beach towels and had popcorn and lemonade! Thank you to Holmes Chair Melissa Lively Poppy for coordinating this event, to Tivoli Theatre for the popcorn donation, and thanks to the volunteers who helped bag and serve the popcorn! 

Benefit at California Pizza Kitchen

Thank you to everyone that participated in our Benefit Nights at California Pizza Kitchen. Together we raised $385! Thank you to our wonderful PTA Committee Chair, Beverly DeLeon, who works tirelessly to keep this wonderful program running! 

Science Fair
Thank you and congratulations to everyone that participated in our Science Fair! Great job kids! A huge thank you to PTA Committee Chair Liza Larsen who coordinate the entire event, along with Mrs. Lee, Holmes Science Teacher, and all our wonderful volunteer judges, set up volunteers and day of event volunteers! This event truly would not be possible with you!!!
