Chuck E. Cheese Benefit Event: Friday, March 13
Join us for a family favorite, Chuck E. Cheese Benefit Event, on Friday, March 13th from 3-9 PM. Look out for fliers in backpacks, you must show the paper flier in order for D60 to benefit from the proceeds. Also, you must show the paper flyer in order to receive 10 FREE play points!
Read To Succeed
You may have seen the flier that was sent home about the Read to Succeed Program. Six Flags Read To Succeed is a free program that allows students to earn tickets to Six Flags just by reading for fun for 6 hours total!

The DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS MARCH 25.  **No late submissions will be accepted!**

There have been kinks in the new and improved Read to Succeed program and unfortunately, it may have caused parents some frustration/confusion. To simplify the process, please do the following:

1. Have your child continue to fill out the reading log as follows:
Register  your child and log their reading hours (electronically ONLY this year)  at
sixflags.com/books with your respective school's code:

Holmes: XSYQ1
Maercker: TUNZT
Westview Hills: P9FFG

Your child must read for six (6) hours to participate in this program. Please check the Rewards drop down on the site for further information on this year's program including the reward options.

**The system has some glitches and the school/teacher name are not going to be what you expect when you enter the codes in (for instance, entering the Holmes code actually gives an output of Maercker school). Please ignore the inaccurate info and continue to enter the information in!

2. On or before
Wednesday, March 25, email or use SeeSaw to send your child’s teacher the
TOTAL number of hours your child read.

Please follow the above directions even if you have already logged hours yourself. This is to
ensure your child’s information has been accurately uploaded onto the Great America site so he/she
earns an admission ticket.

3. Sit back and expect a Six Flags Great America ticket for your child to come in backpacks in May!

Every 10 years the United States Census Bureau counts every resident of the United States. It’s easy, safe, and important. Census data determines your representation in Congress and determines how funds are spent in your community on things like roads, schools and hospitals.

In March 2020 your household will receive an invitation in the mail to respond securely online, by mail, or by phone. Regardless of how you respond, your personal information is protected by federal law.
The census form is available in English and 12 additional languages.

PTA February Event Recap
Parent Trivia Night
District 60's first-ever Parents Night Out Movie Trivia Night was an outstanding success!  Over 140 parents came out to enjoy movie trivia games, dancing, dinner, a costume contest, a photo booth and thousands of dollars worth of prizes that were raffled off!

Co-chairs Rukhsana Iqbal and Danielle Jamil, the masterminds behind this event, want to thank everyone who came out and supported D60.  They also want to give a huge shout out to all the hard work of their Committee Members:  Lesley Wright, Nikki Hearndon, Lindsay Vlahos, and Wayne Driscoll.

District Superintendent Sean Nugent remarked, "Trivia Night was a phenomenal community building event. It was great to see so many current families, as well as families with students who have already graduated from the district. Our table had a blast at trivia night! I hope this becomes an annual event where our parents and staff can come together to raise funds for the PTA, and have a great time celebrating our amazing D60 community."
