To our ACMH community:

It is an understatement to say that these are uncertain and frightening times. Before COVID-19 hit, New York City faced major shortages of housing and access to health care for adults with serious mental illnesses. The pandemic has only compounded these crises and poses additional strains on the funding we rely on to provide essential services to over 1,500 New Yorkers every day, two thirds of whom deal with chronic underlying health problems.

With adjusted schedules and telecommuting wherever possible, our staff continue to work because our clients depends on us to show up. In the face of this unpredictable new reality, we are doing all we can to ensure that no one is left behind and to protect the health and safety of our staff.

All of our programs remain open, with our intake team at work placing new individuals into housing. We have switched to providing care management, counseling, and supportive services largely telephonically, with daily check-in calls to all while continuing home visits to those most at-risk or disconnected. At our 24/7 staff-supported residential locations, we continue to provide meals, symptom and medication management, and daily check-ins to safeguard our residents' health.

Along with the doctors, nurses, first responders, delivery drivers, shelter staff, drug store and grocery store employees, and so many other essential workers, I am proud to count our ACMH team among the unsung heroes in this crisis.

Together, we will get through this and I hope become more connected as a community as a result. On behalf of everyone at ACMH, thank you for your ongoing support of our mission, helping us support vulnerable New Yorkers.

Please be well and take care.
