Two documentary films from award-winning Czech Kiwi filmmaker, Michael Havas, plus a short film by famed NZ director, Taika Waititi, exploring the Maori soldier experience in WW2, specifically Crete will be presented in the second of the spring series of KIWI FILM NIGHTS.
Director Michael Havas will be introducing the films and there will be a Q&A afterwards for those interested. Tickets can be purchased here.

This special evening, with its focus on the Maori Battalion, is presented as a follow-up to ANZAC Day and only days before the Czech Republic marks Liberation Day on 8 May. Come and find out about this little known chapter of New Zealand participation in WW2, specifically the Battle of Crete.
Shifting to Italy, the award-winning short film, Tama Tu, completes the programme. From renowned Kiwi director and New Zealander of the Year 2017, Taika Watiti (Boy, What We Do in the Shadows, Hunt for the Wilder People, Thor: Ragnarok), this is your chance to view this gem of a short film if you didn't manage to catch it during KIWI FILM FEST, 2013.
