Innovation in Medical Devices Requires Innovation in Manufacturing…

There is so much happening in the medical device world. Medical devices are becoming more capable: accurate, smarter, durable, smaller, reliable, quicker, and functional. As the technical potential of what is possible collides with advancements in novel materials medical device designers are producing products that better serve the needs of patients and healthcare providers. New developments in medical devices are being made daily, pushing the edge of traditional manufacturing processes and equipment. To remain innovative and competitive leaders in medical device manufacturing are reaching into their supply chain for solutions.

This edition of Harbec’s Solutions Newsletter features specific details on the diversity of medical device manufacturing capabilities that are required for producing tightly tolerance, high-quality, precision components including 3D printing, CNC milling, and cleanroom molding. We have highlighted some links to the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) resources on medical device manufacturing and other key links highlighting emerging technologies and innovations for medical manufacturing.
