Greetings in the name of the One who can be trusted above every situation!!! A BLESSED MOTHERS' DAY TO ALL!!

Here’s a quick picture update as we have progressed the last few weeks, by His grace!

CLASS ON 1 JOHN WITH BASSA SPEAKING CHURCH LEADERS

Ken was privileged to share for three days with a group of Bassa speaking church leaders on an overview of First John (with a translator, of course). Lots of fun and lots of good questions!! Each graduate will receive a Bassa Bible which we were able to provide through the generosity of Bland Christian Church.

CLASSROOMS BEING PREPARED

This is the first classroom to be painted walls and ceiling. By the time of this prayer letter, the floor is almost completely painted. The electrician has completed the wiring installation. Progress, progress, progress!!

ALMOST, BUT NOT YET

The guys had just finished the septic tank, back filled around it when…. that night a torrential rain added to the weight of the back fill and collapsed one of the walls!!! The repair is nearly complete and greatly strengthened with extra drainage and protection in place to prevent this from happening again. Not in the plan but manageable through His strength and the determination of the work team!!

FOUNDATION CORRECTION, GETTING READY FOR THE POUR – ONE WHEELBARROW AT A TIME

As of this writing, the foundation for the next classroom has been corrected, the back fill brought in a wheelbarrow at a time and the tamping of the back fill to give a solid base for the pour. Lots of hard work. The pour has now been completed so blocks will start being laid tomorrow.

FARMING GOD’S WAY MINISTRY BEGINS

In our last prayer letter, we shared an appeal in helping the agriculture ministry get started. The good news is OVER HALF OF THE $12,000 HAS BEEN RAISED!! We decided to go ahead and get started. Pictured are three of our deaf friends who are helping to get the ground cleared for planting. As of this writing seed is in the ground and this demonstration field is attracting the interest of those who pass by!! This morning the first corn seed germinated!! Small beginnings, great hope! May God be glorified in this ministry!!

We are still in need of funding to replace our batteries for our solar electrical system. Although the cost to replace them with the newer technology battery is high (around $5,000), the cost of running the generator for a year is about the same. These batteries could last up to 20 years!!

Enough for this time. Remember, your prayers and contributions with God’s power and direction make this possible! We are encouraged by you and we work hard to keep honoring God with our lives.
