The Tyre Export Ban is coming...

As of 1 December 2021, whole Tyres will be banned from export.

Most recent data shows that WA Exports nearly 100% of tyres for recycling.  Some tyres will still be eligible for export, including whole bus, truck and aviation tyres going to verified re-treading facilities, shredded or crumbed tyres and tyres processed into tyre derived fuel.
The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment is undertaking consultation on the Tyre Export Ban Rules and WALGA has developed a short Submission.  Submissions are due 5:00pm Friday, 24 September.

For more information, contact Gráinne Whelan, Waste Management Specialist gwhelan@walga.asn.au or 9213 2069.
