Here's what's happening this week at the Cathedral

Hello Amity friends,
I pray this letter finds you well! What a beautiful couple of days it has been here in our city.
We have been walking through the Pentecost season together, pondering what it means to be a "spirit filled people." Last week we talked about confronting our demons in Luke 8:26-39. This week we are going to look at Luke 9:51-62, where Jesus is heading towards Jerusalem, where he will face his accusers and the cross. I want to invite you to read this passage before Sunday. Notice who rejects Jesus along the way and how the disciples respond to that rejection. Notice how Jesus responds to the disciple's overblown recommendation.
Then put yourself in the shoes of those asking to be Christ's disciples towards the end of the passage. How do their questions make you feel? How does Jesus response to their questions make you feel?
I look forward to diving in deeper to this passage with you on Sunday morning.
Bless you all!
Pastor Ben Cremer
