Welcome to our new series, preparing you for the materials revolution!
Declare is the nutrition label for products that helps you make informed decisions and advocate for healthier materials. With 36 Declare labels in Australia and counting, there are plenty of opportunities to connect with progressive manufacturers doing good and improve the impact of your projects.
We'll be sending you:
+ Profiles on all Australian labels
+ Relevant courses
+ Program updates
+ Advocacy campaigns that will help us lead the healthy materials revolution, together!
First up, let's review what Declare is all about. Next week we'll look at the program changes in Declare 2.0 and what you need to know as a specifier or product manufacturer.

A Declare label answers 3 questions:
1. Where does a product come from?
2. What is it made of?
3. What happens at the end of its life?
Declare provides transparency so you know which materials contain chemicals from The Red List.
The Red List contains the worst class chemicals in the building industry that can pollute the environment; bio-accumulate up the food chain until they reach toxic concentrations; and harm construction and factory workers.

Any product type can join the program
Product manufacturers and suppliers apply online for Declare labels by submitting comprehensive product information and ingredient lists - anything that is found in the end product down to 100 parts per million (ppm). We review submissions and work together to create and publish an accurate label.
