On February 28th 2017, VA-REA will host its first Leadership in Energy Advancement and Development (LEAD) series forum of 2017 in partnership with Roanoke College, in Salem Virginia.

Focusing on how to fill Virginia’s electric utility – projected capacity gap* with renewable energy, the half-day event will feature two interactive panel presentations with renewable energy industry experts from around the Commonwealth and networking opportunities with renewable energy stakeholders.

Purpose of event:

• Hear two panel discussions that define and address the current and future projections of Virginia’s energy gap with renewables;

  • Panel #1: Filling the energy gap with distributed generation renewables (GreeneHurlocker, Roanoke College, Secure Futures, Sigora Solar, Virginia Community Capital);
  • Panel #2: Filling the energy gap with utility scale renewables (Appalachian Power Company, Dominion, EDP Renewables, Strata Solar); and 

• Strengthen professional connections and business opportunities by interacting with industry, utility, policy and financing leaders within the Virginia renewable energy market
