Single Touch Payroll (STP) 
The Payroll Event Message Structure Table (MST) is available through the ABSIA STP - Schedule and Key Messages for Payroll Event Release Online Forum* and is currently being reviewed by ABSIA, discussions will continue in the ABSIA Payroll Group Online Forums.*

Working Holiday Makers
The Working Holiday Makers legislation has been followed by ABSIA in the ABSIA Impacts to Software Developers due to legislation - Tax Treatment Changes Online Forum.** The ATO has been in touch with ABSIA and a draft version of the specifications should be made available for review shortly, questions from posts within the forum have been forwarded to the ATO for clarification. The registration system is expected to be made available shortly.

Changes to ATO Forms
The ATO advised of its intent to make changes to the TFN Declaration and file attributes moving towards the legislative changes now passed for FBT and Working Holiday Maker's, as per discussion in the ABSIA Online Forum's***. ABSIA has discussed with the ATO and stressed the need to have the specifications provided in a timely manner to enable software developers to implement by the new financial year.

Imported Digital Services (IDS) 
The ATO is requesting comment by the 20th of January 2017, on its discussion paper issued for the updated GST legislation where international sales of digital products and services to Australian consumers will begin to attract GST from the 1st of July 2017. Details at the ABSIA Imported Digital Services Online Forum.****

Cloud Authentication and Authorisation Model 
ABSIA have compiled a pack to address problems raised from the cloud authentication and authorisation model. Members are asked to review and provide feedback, comments and suggestions for recommendations by COB Thursday 15th December 2016. Ministerial ICT Procurement Round Table 
The Assistant Minister for Cities and Digital Transformation, the Hon Angus Taylor MP, announced a series of round table discussions in order to get the views of key business members on the way that government connects with the private sector in relation to ICT. This forms part of the Procurement Taskforce that was established by the government as part of its digital transformation agenda. An invitation was extended to President Karen Lay-Brew to represent ABSIA.****** A further invitation was provided to ABSIA for the future round tables requesting a few more ABSIA representatives, the outcomes of the initial meeting and details on how ABSIA Members should express their interest in attending can be found at the ABSIA Outcome from the Ministerial ICT Procurement Round Table 6/12/2016 Online Forum.******

2016 in Review

On the 13th of July 2016, ABSIA posted its first Tweet - "Visit ABSIA at http://absia.asn.au. Join in the discussion at http//forum.absia.asn.au"
ABSIA worked hard to strengthen the relationship with government, receiving assistance from the ATO secondee's.  
 
In September, ABSIA ran its first exhibition, along side its forum, at the ABSIA Forum & ebMS3 expo. 
 
At the AGM 2016 we welcomed David Tuke and Patrick Hamilton as Directors. 
 
ABSIA bids farewell to its original website, launching its new website, including a Product Register were government agency certifications can be managed in a centralised location.
ABSIA thanks its members, collectively your efforts have enabled ABSIA to influence improvements for the Business Software Industry, working with government on Single Touch Payroll (STP), eInvoicing, Practitioner Lodgement Service (PLS), Standard Business Reporting (SBR), Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM),  Simpler GST and Digital Capability Locator (DCL).
