Farmers Markets are Essential!
The Tulsa Farmers' Market joins markets across the country in celebrating National Farmers Market Week from August 2-8, 2020. Out of an abundance of caution, we will not be hosting any in person celebration at our markets, but we will be offering TFM Kids' Club grab bags full of coloring pages & games to be enjoyed at home! We will also be hosting a fun photo campaign for our market goers- Shop the market, snap a pic at the market, and/or a pic of your local bounty from the market, and post it on IG or FB with the hashtag #NFMWtulsa2020 All submissions will be automatically entered into a raffle for a framed 2020 market poster, TFM t-shirt, and other market swag! We want to see how YOU see and experience the Tulsa Farmers' Market! 🍉🥒🍅🥕
In the midst of a global pandemic, farmers markets — like all other small businesses — have been scrambling to continue operations for the farmers and communities that depend on them. When conventional food supply chains failed at the start of the pandemic, farmers markets and local food systems clearly displayed the resiliency of short supply chains and interest in local foods spiked nationwide. National Farmers Market Week offers us an important opportunity to showcase the impacts of markets to customers, communities, local officials, and legislators and highlight farmers markets as essential businesses.
Creating awareness and generating support is of exceptional importance this year as the Tulsa Farmers' Market is unable to host any of the fundraising events that it financially depends on to keep the market and its various community projects going. So in honor of National Farmers Market Week, we humbly ask for your support and contributions to help us bridge our fundraising gap in this WILD and unpredictable year. Any amount is greatly appreciated! Click here to donate.
Thank you for years of support, Tulsa! And don't forget to come see us this Wednesday & Saturday in Kendall Whittier!👩🌾
CV-19 Safety Measures at Market
The Mid-Week Market's operations will mirror our Saturday market, and we will continue with the same safety protocols on Wednesdays. We will continue with a high-risk hour for the first hour of market, 7:30-8:30 am. During this hour all vendors will be required to wear masks and, of course, we will be spread out to promote social distancing. Hand sanitizer will also be available with every vendor. View our THD approved safety plan here.
See you at the Market!
