In honor of Black History Month, we've been having a series of conversations with RISE members and teachers about what this month means to them, how they share its importance with their children and students, and how these reflections can shape our work together. As Jamaica CDC father Rodolfo shared at our ECE coalition meeting, "It is important for us to share our liberation stories with one another and with our children so we can all move forward together with a shared vision of the liberation we will fight for them to have."

Hear from RISE teachers Ta'Shara and Sandra at Early Beginnings sharing the work they have done this Black History Month and the importance these reflections hold for them!

RISE Impact
This month, RISE members Diana, Shova, and Kumar joined Aurora Public Schools' Advisory Committee for the Colorado Preschool Program! They attended their first meeting, and will continue to serve as members on the Advisory Committee into next school year. We were so inspired by their thoughtful questions and suggestions. We're proud to see our members sitting at a district decision making table and stepping up to serve as leaders representing their voices, and the voices of other RISE members!
Echoing Green Recognition
We are excited and honored to announce that RISE Colorado has been selected as a 2015 semi-finalist for Echoing Green's Global Fellowship. From a pool of 3,165 ventures working to create change across the world, we are humbled to be in the company of 431 incredible ventures that made it to the next round! We're Moving!
RISE Colorado will be moving out of the former Aurora Human Rights Center at 1400 Dayton St. at the end of February! New ownership will be turning this building into a homeless shelter. We will no longer be using this as our mailing address, so if you need to send us something by mail please reach out to us personally to receive our temporary mailing address. Stay tuned to find out where in the wonderful Aurora community we'll call our new home!
