Families, students, teachers, and community members gathered to celebrate the passing of the APS resolution that supports students regardless of documentation status. The resolution passed with a 7-0 vote by the APS Board of Education! We believe it is the first community led and community written resolution to pass in the U.S and we're proud of families and students for making history in Aurora. For months, everyone organized and worked SO hard to make the resolution a reality and we admire families' courage and bravery through the whole process. This is an incredible win for our communities! Families are proving what's possible as they lead the movement for educational equity. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner together and shared reflections and memories of our experiences over the past several months.

The group was made up of people of color from diverse backgrounds who are ready to lead their communities forward toward positive systemic change. Thank you to New Profit and New Politics for making this wonderful training possible!
