Over 100 community members attended the Aurora Public Schools Board Meeting on May 2 encouraging the board to move forward with a community-led resolution to Keep APS a Safe and Inclusive School Community. This show of support sent a powerful message to board members and district officials. They decided to move the resolution forward in the process leading to a vote. Thank you so much to students and families for their amazing leadership during this campaign. We are incredibly proud of their resiliency and perseverance!
On behalf of students, teachers, and families, we would like to express our deep gratitude to everyone who worked to make this campaign a success. Thank you for sharing posts on social media, reaching out to get signatures of support, signing on to the letter of support, and for attending the meeting this past Tuesday. Every bit of support is valuable and important. THANK YOU!!!
The Board has moved the resolution to the next phase, but the work isn't over yet! The Board will discuss and propose changes to the resolution on May 16. We need community support at this board meeting to show the board that we need and want this resolution to be adopted on June 6. Please bring your friends, family, and neighbors to the board meeting on Tuesday, May 16 and Tuesday, June 6!
