Hot Colours for 2020!
As I go around and view properties that have not updated their colour scheme in a while, say the last 10 years, I see a lot of beiges and light browns. Over the last 5 years, that trend has given rise to the light blues and greys, and this past year has certainly seen white on white on white popularized and is a good bet for not only updating your colour scheme but adding a lot of light.
Having said that, I researched colour trends for 2020 and found that although white on white on white is still in vogue, there are a number of interior decorators and paint companies that are looking to spice up the colour palette. Here are a number of links to sites that predict what you might want to consider when updating this year! Good luck!

What’s going on in the market??
Signs are it is heating up and going to be a very brisk spring market. Anecdotally I am hearing much more talk of multiple offers. Apartments are starting to move again. Prices have dropped over the past year, and we have a lot of pent up demand between people who could not meet the 2% stress test at the higher prices, and with the lower prices, now can. As well, I have also heard that foreign money is starting to come back into the market. We could easily be heading back into a seller’s market.
If you are living in a strata property, please make sure you have all of the necessary coverage, INCLUDING, deductible insurance. As stratas are renewing their insurance, not only are the premiums going up substantially, but so are the deductibles. I just sold an apartment in New Westminster. Last year the deductibles were $10,000 for the minor stuff, and $25,000 for water damage. Those deductibles are ALL now $50,000. If the problem eminates from your suite, you will be charged the insurance deductible. Make sure you have a rider on your condo insurance that covers the deductible. Otherwise, it comes out of your pocket!!
