The Knowable and Unknowable: Scott Benesiinaabandan and Kite in Discussion
On Thursday, Kite will be having a discussion with Scott Benesiinaabandan about the Knowable and Unknowable as part of a many year conversation about Indians, Aliens and the Paranormal alongside a screening of three video works.
Discussion will be followed by a dinner of bison stew and frybread.
Kite will be presenting her year-long Vera List Center supported project Hél čhaŋkú kiŋ ȟpáye (There lies the road) with a live performance and an exhibition in PS122 Gallery. The exhibition will engage with questions of how respect and reciprocity with the nonhuman, such as in Lakȟóta ontology, can inform art and world-making in a “Good Way.” This project is presented as part of the two-day symposium As for Protocols—To Hold Things Together. The exhibition will present Kite's 5 years of PhD research at PS122 Gallery / Vera List Center with new machine learning interfaces and Lakȟóta methodology design.
