ArtOpp of the Week: Wachtmeister Award

VCCA is offering a fully-funded fellowship for established visual artists who have not had a previous residency at VCCA. One recipient will be awarded a $1,000 honorarium and a fully-funded residency of up to 30 days (between July 2021 and January 2023) at VCCA's Mt. San Angelo in Amherst, Virginia, with travel expenses reimbursed up to $750. A VCCA residency includes an individual studio, a private bedroom, and meals in a community of over 20 professional writers, visual artists, and composers.

Visiting Museums and Galleries during COVID

Galleries and museums have reopened after months of lockdown. If you’re anything like us, you’ve already visited shows aplenty, and as the art world slides into its busy season, you’re ready for even more. But you’ll have noticed that it’s not quite the same experience as it once was. To help protect yourself, your fellow visitors as well as museum and gallery staff, follow these guidelines to enjoy art responsibly, wherever COVID-19 is still at large.
