UK Spotlight: Cassils at HOME, Manchester

Transgender visual artist Cassils is having their first UK solo exhibition and 10-year survey at HOME in Manchester. Working primarily in live performance, the artist places their own body as both material and protagonist; for them, performance is a form of social sculpture. Cassils references histories of LGBTQI+ violence, struggle, and survival throughout their practice to analyse the contemporary moment. The exhibition runs through 12 December 2021. Open on Tues – Sat: 12:00 – 20:00, Sun: 12:00 – 18:00, Mon: Closed. Entry is free.
