BxNU Master of Fine Art

Would you like to explore the world-making capacities of creative research? Today, artists are innovators not simply as individual producers but also as institution-builders, project managers, technical inventors, curators, educators, community workers and equality activists.

This MFA in Fine Art, offered in partnership between BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and Northumbria University, Newcastle focuses upon fine art as an exploratory form of research activity driving the creation of new forms of aesthetic expression and social connectedness. It looks toward the future of cultural work as diverse, networked and socially transformative. For more info and to apply, click here.

ArtOpps of the Week

Browse through our freshly updated list of artist opportunities, this week featuring:

→ Apply to Nomadic Alexandria Residencies at Cittadellarte-Fondazione Pistoletto, a funded #ArtOpps looking at the challenges faced by arts + heritage through historic and contemporary prisms of Alexandria, Egypt & its influence on urban imaginaries in the Mediterranean region.

→ artsdepot is looking for artistic collaborators to work with them and 3 - 5 schools in the London Borough of Barnet to devise, create and deliver a creative, imaginative and innovative workshop programme around the theme of environmental sustainability. £10,000 commission.

→ Entries for this year's Royal Scottish Academy Morton Award are now open to artists working in lens-based media in Scotland. £5,000 is available to research, develop and produce a new body of work in a lens-based medium.

→ The Royal Scottish Academy William Littlejohn Award provides Scottish artists with an opportunity to research, develop and produce a new body of work in a water-based medium, along with £2,000 and acquisition of completed work.

→ The 3 bis f contemporary art centre is launching a call for applications from international visual artists to undertake a creative residency, the results of which will be exhibited in the art centre’s spaces. A €5,000 grant will be divided between a residency stipend, travel expenses and a production budget.
