Open Call for ICOM-US Board of Directors Nominations!

ICOM-US is accepting nominations to join its Board of Directors (nominations can be for yourself or on behalf of another colleague). ICOM-US welcomes the nomination of individuals from all backgrounds, however, you must be an ICOM-US member to be eligible. Museum International - LGBTQI+ Museums

Guest edited by Renaud Chantraine and Bruno Brulon Soares, this edition dives into some of the most transformative and challenging initiatives of LGBTQI+ museums throughout the world. While taking into consideration the latest attempts at formal inclusion in mainstream museums, the focus of the present issue is the current and evolving bloom of community-based LGBTQI+ museums and initiatives, as well as their struggle for autonomy throughout the world.

The Prairie State Museums Project, a collaboration funded by the Pulitzer Center and Illinois Humanities, partners with local journalists across the "Prairie State" to understand how museums are facing the COVID crisis. Completed in the summer of 2020, the project team recently released a video documenting the project and the inherent cultural and economic value museums bring to their communities. Further, the video explores the crossovers with Black Lives Matter, the 2020 Presidential Election, journalism, and representation in the museum sector.

The Chinese National Organising Committee and ICOM-CC are happy to announce that the 19th ICOM-CC Triennial Conference, Beijing, will be a VIRTUAL EVENT from 17 to 21 May 2021.
With a wonderfully broad and diverse programme of conservation projects, challenges, solutions, and practices on case studies from all over the World this event promises to transcend boundaries and to inspire new collaborations and integrated approaches to conservation.

The Earlybird deadline is 25th March.
There will be four presentations shown simultaneously. One channel will have simultaneous translation from English/Chinese. Working Group sessions will be clustered but distributed between different channels. The Thursday-Friday sessions will be dedicated to ICOM-CC business - working group sessions and general assemblies. 
The preprints will be uploaded to the conference website for registered participants 2 weeks prior to the conference (c.1st May). The presentations will be pre-recorded and released to a schedule. These will be available up to 30 days after the conference for viewing. There are 160 presentations/papers and 110 posters.
