Rhody Cruise-In - Meeting Minutes
Big Success for Soroptimist Club
Thanks to all the Rhody Cruisers and the Community for their support of the Second Annual Florence Toy Drive.
The A&W was filled to the top with 45 Rhody Cruisers attending and the Florence community. We collected a van full of clothes and toys plus $285 in Cash donations which Santa and Firefighters were happy to collect. Thanks Gary Cargill and to Siuslaw Valley Fire & Rescue for the big red truck and helping hands.

Here are the other highlights of the Rhody Cruisers Meeting:
• Discussion about the Rhody Cruisers Jackets. Terri Martin gave us an update of the progress. we are waiting for quotes for embroidery from offshore manufacturers. Mustang Mary has offered to get involved as she has additional contacts in the industry.

• The 50/50 Rolling Raffle. The 50/50 proceeds will go to funding the purchase of Jacket Patches.
-- Here is a review of the way this works. At the beginning of the meeting tickets are sold, $1 each of 6 for $5. Some random person draws a ticket. The holder of the ticket draws a card from the 50/50 deck. If that person draws the JOKER... they win the pot. Each time a card is drawn, that card is removed from the deck. This process happens twice for each event. Each month the pot gets bigger and the deck gets smaller. At the last meeting, Linda Neil won both draws, but did not draw the Joker... The pot was at $177, and will be over $200 next time.

• Rhody Cruisers Plaque. I checked and they can be made up at a cost of $28 each or about $30 delivered. I have a list of 6 members that want one. we need to order a minimum of 10. eMail me if you want one for your cars, and I will order them.

• World of Speed Motorsports Museum in Wilsonville
We again discussed a bus trip to the Museum in Wilsonville. Right now they have the 'American Muscle Car' exhibit and several others thru the end of the year. ... When asked who wanted to go, about 20 hands went up. It will be a all day trip. CJ Booth and Karen Buckmaster are working to arrange a bus, and get related costs. Details about the Museum are HERE

• Veterans Day Parade. November 11, 2017
See the story in this Newser. John Machi has mentioned that many Veterans may want to ride and wave in the Parade. I suggested they could go to the assembly area, Quince @ ball park, and we will try to find them a seat.

• Jan Brandow announced a Holiday Bazaar and Bake Sale.
--See the poster and story in this Newser.

• The Christmas Brunch was discussed
--
We took a vote to see who wanted to go to the Adobe. The Adobe was the clear choice.
