Welcome to the September edition of the Front Street Newsletter where you will find oodles of information about what's going on here at Front Street! We had an exceptionally exciting month in August and the fun rolls right into September! This month the "Sweet Harmony" mural at the Dayton Levitt Pavilion is completed! Linda Hart's solo exhibition "Chasing Urban Shadows" opens tonight in the CD Hall. The "Tree of Life" memorial is on display for the community at the Dayton Metro Library thru October 1st. We have two exciting Art Hops planned for this month so be sure to read thru to the Gallery and Studio News section!
In food news, EGG ROLLS UNLIMITED is BACKKKKK at Front Street on September 18th and October 16th! Additionally, we are thrilled to welcome JSG FAMILY CATERING LLC. to tonight's First Friday Art Hop! - You remember their crispy chicken wings from Brick City Artworks Cars and Art event last month. AS ALWAYS, our good friends from THE ROLLING OASIS will be here with all your favorites!

"Sweet Harmony" Community Mural



It’s finished! Thank you Downtown Dayton for the grant from Art in the City in collaboration with Front Street Global Artist Initiative to fund this community project that can be seen at Levitt Pavilion Dayton… the mural is on the back of the Jumbotron at the Levitt, there was just a blank area with the backside of the screen exposed to Main St… a wall was built where there was none so Samantha Mang, Dan Wells and the Front street art community could bring the Dayton community at large into the project during Art in The City.

The "Tree of Life" memorial is on exhibit at Dayton Metro Library's Opportunity Room now through October 1st. The memorial is on exhibit in conjunction with Leesa Haapapuro's Butterfly Kaleidoscope Community project. Stop into the library during normal business hours to visit the memorial and color a butterfly - a symbol of hope.
