Hey there Art Lover!
Welcome to the August edition of the Front Street Newsletter where you will find oodles of information about what's going on at Front Street!
We start the month out at the Dayton Metro Library with the install of the "Tree of Life" memorial; nine paintings done by local artists to represent the nine lives lost in the horrific Oregon District shooting on August 4, 2019.

(Artists: Jo Anne Vincent, Julie Riley, Sunny Sims, Samantha Mang, Lori Daugherty, Mikee Huber, Hyacinth Paul, Rusty Harden, Bonnie Kuntz)
The artworks were designed for people to write notes of remembrance and tack them onto the trees.
The exhibit will be on display in conjunction with a community project directed by Leesa Haapapuro. Color and decorate a butterfly -- a symbol of hope, growth, and change. The Kaleidoscope of Butterflies will build on this effort, allowing participants to reflect on the third anniversary of the local tragedy and other more recent ills by leaving intentions for positive change.
The installations are on display at the Dayton Metro Library August 3rd - September 14th during normal business hours.

Artists from across the Midwest express their experiences and perspectives of what "Life in the City" means to them through their work in ceramics, photography, painting, sculpture, and more!
Opening Reception: August 5th, 5pm-9pm
Closing Reception: August 21st, 11am-4pm

Front Street artists are so excited to invite you to join us at the Levitt Pavilion on Saturday, August 6th during Downtown Dayton's "Art in the City!"

We are grateful for the support we have received from Downtown Dayton Partnership, Levitt Pavilion, Front Street Artist Global Initiative, and the team of artists who have worked hard and quickly to bring this project to life! (Artists: Dan Wells of Brick City Artworks, Paul and Buena Potter of Dayton Digital Woodworking, Richard Lundin and Samantha Mang)
