Summary of the Momentum for Change special events at the UN Climate Change Conference in Warsaw.

The UN Climate Change secretariat showcased inspiring examples of people taking action on climate change across the globe during a series of special events at the Warsaw Climate Change Conference last month. The events told the stories of the 17 inspiring activities announced in November as 2013 Lighthouse Activities under the secretariat's Momentum for Change initiative.

From a powerful, women-led climate campaign in Australia to a ground-breaking effort to build climate-smart housing in Mexico, the events showcased how climate action is improving lives, economies and the environment.

Launch event: ICT Solutions

This event launched a new partnership between the UN Climate Change secretariat and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) to underscore the critical role Information and Communication Technology (ICT) plays in tackling climate change. Moderated by Nick Nuttall, Communications Director for the UN Environment Programme, the event featured a high-level discussion among senior government officials and influential corporate leaders from the ICT sector, including:
