Story Time (new!)
We're introducing Kids' Kindness Club Story Time! This is where we share a book that we love, that also links to our theme. We have chosen 'Ten things I can do to help my world,' read by Tanya, who has been a teacher for 14 years. Tanya is working with us at the Kids' Kindness Club. Enjoy!

Did You Know?
Jason Momoa, star of Aquaman, recently shaved his famous long hair so that people would listen to his message about the environment. After being on the beaches of Hawaii (his home island), he said, "I'm just seeing some things in our ocean that are so sad, so please, anything you can do to eliminate single use plastics in your lives." He finished by holding up his reusable aluminium water bottle, which is one easy way that we can all help.

Show & Tell
Last week we asked you if you could think of ways to help new children starting at your school. Eva, one of our Kids’ Kindness Club members, noticed there was a new girl starting in her Year One class.
Eva decided to make her feel welcome by inviting her new friend to her 6th birthday party.
What a thoughtful gesture Eva. We wish you a happy birthday!

Kind Story
Did you know that shoes can be made from plants?!
Alex Ward, a shoe designer from Essex was tired of making shoes that didn’t help the planet – he knew that there had to be another way. He started his own company called ‘aspect climate projects’ and after a LOT of research and testing, he has successfully made trainers using plant-based materials such as pineapples, coconuts and cork! The shoes have had their materials independently tested for their impact on the planet, and for each pair sold, a contribution is made towards supporting global climate projects.
Well done Alex for making planet friendly shoes!

Self-Kindness Tip
Why not combine self-kindness with helping the planet?! This week you could take a bike or scooter ride maybe to school or around your local area. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins (hormones in your body) which increases your sense of wellbeing.
Being on your bike or scooter is great for the environment too, so this is a double win!
